Automobiles in German Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities reported they were notified by a man who discovered a car in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Roughly fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with swastikas, they stated in a release.

Law enforcement report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.

The fluid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then discovered many other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Police say preliminary tests show the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; authorities are not yet informed of any harm in relation with the event," they stated.

Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to unravel the case" and have asked to the public for details.

A high-ranking representative said the incident made him speechless and needed to be resolved rapidly.

"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he wrote on online, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on people of migrant background in February 2020.
